P5 have had a very busy but fun term! Our main focus was on the Egyptians and we learned all about the gift of the Nile and made shadufs out of wood. We created our very own tomb tunnel in the classroom whilst learning about the powerful Pharaoh’s and in particular Tutankhamun.

We danced to the ‘Bangles’ classic ‘Walk like an Egyptian’, mummified some pupils in toilet roll and some apples in all sorts of different liquid and made pyramids out of sugar cubes, spaghetti and mini mallows!

Our Egyptian theme was rounded off by a very enjoyable workshop at the Ulster Musuem on Takabuti.

Another highlight was the Fitness 8 sports programme in which we  learned more about healthy eating and the fat and sugar content in the foods we eat every day! Scary stuff!

Finally we braved the cold and took off to Barnett’s Demesne on our Parklife Walk with Lucille.

Roll on the summer term!
